Triple Three Distillery is an independent craft distillery based in Strand, just outside Cape Town, South Africa. It specializes in the production of handcrafted premium spirits, carefully made in small batches. The distillery is run by Rolf Zeitvogel, a German master distiller who continues a long family tradition of distilling that dates back to the 1920s in the Black Forest. Growing up among vineyards, copper stills, and cooper workshops, he was immersed in the world of distillation from an early age.
After receiving formal training in oenology and viticulture and gaining experience in various roles in Germany, Zeitvogel moved to South Africa in the 1990s. He initially worked as a cellar master and later as an estate manager at the renowned Blaauwklippen wine estate in Stellenbosch. The idea of founding his own distillery was born out of his passion to combine classic European distillation craftsmanship with the fascinating aromas of the Cape region—such as rooibos, buchu, or wild citrus fruits.
In 2012, he co-founded Gentleman Spirits SA, which evolved into the Triple Three Distillery brand in 2015.
Today, Rolf runs the distillery together with his wife Regina, who shares his passion and oversees guest experiences, tastings, and sales. What sets Triple Three apart, beyond expertise, is a steadfast commitment to craftsmanship, captured in the guiding principle: “The Power of Three.”

The distillery’s range includes the classic Just Juniper Berry Gin, a purist London Dry style with a bold juniper character, the Citrus Infusion Gin, known for its fresh citrus notes and floral nuances, and the African Botanicals Gin, which blends African herbs like buchu and rooibos into a bold, spicy spirit with a unique identity. The portfolio is rounded off by fine fruit brandies, herbal liqueurs, and limited editions such as the “Distiller’s Cut.”
The Triple Three Distillery is located about 30 minutes east of Cape Town, in the industrial area of Strand. Tours and tastings are available on request and are typically led personally by Rolf or Regina Zeitvogel—an experience that not only delights the palate but also deepens appreciation for authentic distillation art.
